Gunmen kill 13 wedding guests, abduct several in Kaduna attack

At least 13 people have been killed and several others abducted after armed bandits attacked a wedding celebration in Kahir village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident, which occurred late Sunday night at about 11:47 p.m., was confirmed by state police authorities, who said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of casualties, including the number of abducted victims.

A community leader, Musa Adamu, said the assailants, who reportedly arrived in large numbers and were heavily armed, stormed the venue and opened fire indiscriminately on guests gathered for the event.

Several attendees sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the General Hospital in Kagarko for treatment, while those with more severe injuries were referred to medical facilities in Kaduna.

Residents said the attackers operated for nearly an hour without resistance. During the нападение, the gunmen also looted nearby shops, carting away food items, provisions, and drugs from a local chemist.

Police authorities said a manhunt has been launched to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
