The Governor of Chukwuma Soludo has approved the commencement of applications for the position of Permanent Secretary in the Anambra State Civil Service.

This was disclosed in a public service announcement issued by the State Head of Service, Ngozi Iwouno, and made available to journalists on Thursday. The notice, dated March 27, 2026, was also circulated to key government offices, including the Deputy Governor and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

According to the statement, eligible and interested officers are required to submit their Expressions of Interest to the Office of the Head of Service in Awka on or before April 8, 2026.

The announcement stated that the approval by the governor was aimed at inviting suitably qualified civil servants to fill vacant Permanent Secretary positions within the state public service.

To qualify, applicants must be confirmed civil servants in the Anambra State Public Service and must currently serve within the directorate cadre, specifically not below the rank of Deputy Director and not above that of Director. In addition, applicants are required to have a minimum of two years remaining before reaching the mandatory retirement age or completing their years of service.

The notice further indicated that officers outside the Anambra State Civil Service may also apply, provided they meet the directorate-level requirement.

Prospective candidates are advised to visit the state government’s official website at https://www.anambrastate.gov.ng/ to complete, print, and submit their application forms within the stipulated deadline.

Only candidates who are shortlisted will proceed to the next stage of the selection process, the statement added.
