Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on Thursday held a meeting with the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the House of Representatives.
The meeting comes amid growing speculation that the governor is preparing to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling APC.
Addressing reporters after the session, an unnamed APC House member said the gathering was convened on a special invitation to discuss ongoing political realignments in Nigeria, with particular focus on Bauchi State. The lawmaker stated, “We have reached a positive conclusion, and in a short period, we will announce our position publicly to share the outcome of our discussions.”
Prior to this engagement, Governor Mohammed and a senior PDP official reportedly met with stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as part of efforts to evaluate his political options ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The meetings underscore a period of heightened political maneuvering in Bauchi State as key actors consider party alignments in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.
