The Supreme Court has scheduled April 22 for the hearing of an appeal filed by the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, in connection with the ongoing leadership crisis within the party.

A five-member panel of the apex court, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, fixed the date after granting a request for an accelerated hearing of the matter.

The court also directed counsel to the appellant, Jibril Okutepa, to file and serve the appellant’s brief by Wednesday. In turn, the respondents have been ordered to file and serve their respective briefs within three days of receiving the appellant’s submission.

The court further instructed that the appellant may file a reply brief, if necessary, within one day of being served with the respondents’ briefs.

The appeal challenges the March 12 judgment of the Court of Appeal, which dismissed Mark’s earlier appeal. That appeal had sought to overturn the September 4, 2025 ruling of Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which declined to grant injunctive reliefs requested in an ex parte application filed by ADC chieftain Nafiu Bala Gombe.
