Veteran entertainer Charly Boy has sparked reactions on social media after joking about being married to the same woman for nearly five decades.

Speaking during an interview on Yanga FM, the outspoken media personality said marriage requires constant effort and management, noting that he and his wife still have disagreements despite spending 48 years together.

“I've been married to one woman for 48 years. It is very boring. Imagine eating the same egusi for years, it's boring now,” he said humorously.

Charly Boy, however, stressed that disagreements are a normal part of any marriage, describing his relationship as one that thrives despite frequent quarrels.

“All marriages are management, including my own. Me and my wife be like Tom and Jerry. We dey quarrel every day and we will continue to dey quarrel and settle am,” he said.

Reflecting on the longevity of their union, the entertainer also referenced the popular saying, “the devil you know is better than the one you don't know,” suggesting that understanding and accepting a partner's flaws is key to sustaining a long-term relationship.

His comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with many interpreting the “boring” remark as a light-hearted joke rather than a serious complaint about his marriage.
