The senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, has threatened members of the Accord Party with violence ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State.

Fadahunsi, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made the remarks in Yoruba while addressing supporters in Ilesha, where he warned against the presence or activities of Accord Party members in the area.

The senator urged his supporters to turn out en masse to vote on election day, while also calling on those present to record his remarks.

He reportedly said that there would be trouble if Accord Party members were seen in Ilesha before the election, adding that his supporters would confront them.

“If we hear of Accord Party members coming to Ilesha, there will be trouble. We will all come out and vote. Please record me. We are here, and between now and the election, if we see anyone from the Accord Party, we will kill them,” he said.

The comments have raised concerns amid heightened political activities across Osun State as political parties intensify campaigns and mobilisation ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The August 15 election is expected to attract significant attention, with parties and their supporters stepping up their campaigns in the final days leading to the poll.

Fadahunsi currently represents Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly and is a prominent member of the PDP in the state.
