The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports that it has withdrawn its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council list, describing the claims as unfounded rumours.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the clarification on Tuesday, insisting that any decision to alter the composition of the campaign council would be formally communicated by the party.

Morka’s statement followed reports circulating that the ruling party had withdrawn the list recently released as part of its preparations for the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking on the development, the APC spokesman said the report was merely a rumour.

“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced,” Morka said.

The APC recently unveiled the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections, with President Bola Tinubu seeking re-election for a second term.

The composition of the council has, however, sparked reactions from party members and political stakeholders, particularly over the inclusion and exclusion of some prominent figures.

The reactions have fuelled speculation that the APC could review its campaign structure ahead of the election.

However, Morka’s latest clarification indicates that there has been no official decision to withdraw the list.

He maintained that any changes to the composition of the campaign council would be formally announced through the appropriate channels of the party.
