His Majesty Global School, Ibadan, Oyo State, has joined the nationwide campaign to combat malaria through the Geneith Health Competition (GHC), with 10 students earning free registration and emerging as malaria ambassadors after demonstrating their knowledge of health-related issues.

The malaria awareness programme was held at the school on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, when the Geneith Health Competition outreach team, led by CEOAFRICA Managing Director, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, visited the institution in Ido, Ibadan, to engage students in the competition and encourage their participation in the movement towards a malaria-free Nigeria.

The Geneith Health Competition is organised by CEOAFRICA, sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited and powered by Coatal Forte Softgel. The initiative seeks to educate and empower students in secondary and tertiary institutions across Nigeria with the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves, their families and their communities against malaria.

During the programme, students participated in an interactive question-and-answer session led by the CEOAFRICA team. The exercise tested their understanding of health-related issues, particularly malaria prevention and control, while reinforcing the importance of environmental cleanliness, preventive practices and appropriate treatment in reducing the burden of the disease.

At the end of the exercise, 10 students who answered the questions correctly were rewarded with free registration for the competition and recognised as malaria ambassadors under the initiative.

The students recognised for their outstanding performance were Olayemi Taiwo, Olayemi Kehinde, Odeniran Covenant and Owolabi Okikijesu from the senior class, alongside Adewale Aishat, Emucha Nehemiah, Adepegba Inioluwa, Abiodun Precious, Akinyemi David and Afolayan Mary from the junior class.

Their recognition is expected to inspire other students to participate actively in the competition while encouraging the dissemination of accurate information about malaria prevention and control within the school and their respective communities.

Speaking during the event, the school's President and Proprietor, Dr. Babajide Johnson Ojo, expressed appreciation to Prince Cletus Ilobanafor for extending the Geneith Health Competition to the institution and providing students with an opportunity to benefit from its health education and empowerment objectives.

Dr. Ojo encouraged the students to take full advantage of the competition, noting that the knowledge and opportunities it offers could help them develop careers in the health sector and bring pride to their school.

He also commended the organisers for what he described as a laudable initiative capable of contributing to Nigeria's aspiration to eliminate malaria through homegrown solutions and increased public awareness.

The programme also featured group photography sessions involving Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, the school's proprietor and students, with participants photographed class by class as part of the outreach activities.

In her vote of thanks, the school principal, Mrs. Kehinde Isaac, appreciated the organisers for bringing the initiative to the school and commended the students for their cooperation, enthusiasm and active participation throughout the programme.

The Geneith Health Competition is a nationwide, youth-focused initiative designed to mobilise young Nigerians as ambassadors in the fight against malaria by combining health education, academic engagement and incentives. Through the programme, students are encouraged to acquire relevant health knowledge, share accurate information and promote preventive practices among their peers, families and communities.

The competition targets junior and senior secondary school students, as well as those in tertiary institutions, across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Its broader objective is to build a generation of informed and empowered young people who can contribute meaningfully to malaria prevention and control.

With His Majesty Global School joining the growing network of participating institutions, the 10 newly recognised malaria ambassadors are expected to extend the campaign's message beyond the classroom, encouraging their peers and community members to embrace effective malaria prevention practices.

Through the Geneith Health Competition, young Nigerians are being positioned not only as beneficiaries of health education but also as active advocates for healthier communities, reinforcing the national drive towards a malaria-free Nigeria.
