As part of its arrangement and plans to resuscitate the party in the State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has concluded plans to relocate the State secretariat from Queens Elizabeth road to Molete area of Ibadan. According to reliable source, this is very necessary so as to facilitate a vibrant repositioning to place the party at vantage position for future elections.

Speaking with reporters at his Oluyole residence, Senator Kolawole Folarin, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Oyo State, explained that efforts are on pipeline to marshal grand plans for the party to bounce back. “The PDP remains a party that is dear to the heart of Nigerians because it is the only political party that has the true colouration of the Nigerian nation. It is indeed a pan Nigerian party that has held the country together since the exit of the military from Nigerian politics in 1999, and inspires hope and political tolerance among the diverse ethnic groups; with a promising political agenda for the nation. Sen. Folarin said.

On the future of the PDP, particularly in Oyo State, Sen Folarin revealed: “We are set on a serious course to reposition and rebrand the party in the consciousness of Nigerians. This comes with lots of restructuring that involves putting some things in place and jettisoning some. We still have strong faith in PDP and except that our present State of being is a challenge that must be overcome. You will agree with me that challenges and pains are part and parcel of human and institutional nature that must be overcome. So what the party is presently experiencing is not an aberration. We are definitely going to come out of it stronger to continue the process of nation building.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recently suffered major setback in the general elections as they lost major seats especially that of the President to the opposition party, All Progressive Congress (APC). This many political analysts have attributed to the unhealthy rivalry within party stalwarts and members across the country. With this development, the party has been relegated to play the opposition in the next dispensation.
