Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko
From Akure, the capital city of Ondo State in Nigeria, CEOAFRICA.com received a report that the Olusegun Mimiko-led administration in the state has declared a 7-day of mourning in honour of fmr governor of the state, Olusegun Agagu, who died last Friday.
While paying a condolence visit to the family of his deceased predecessor, Governor Mimiko described Agagu as an achiever who was determined to face and scale many hurdles amid difficulties in bringing out the best in OndoState.
“Dr. Agagu was a very brilliant man who possessed a remarkable ability for hard work, which was evident as he gave his best to the state first, as deputy governor (in the old Ondo State) and later, as governor.” He said.
While expressing his shock over the sudden death of Agagu, Governor Mimiko counseled all and sundry to take solace in the fact that Agagu left good legacies behind while in office.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of Agagu, and reassured the family of Ondo State people’s love and support at this dark period. He then promised that Dr. Agagu would be given a befitting burial.
Responding on behalf of the Family, Mr. Feyi Agagu thanked the governor for his visit and he claimed that the outpouring of worlds eulogizing his father has helped to console the family.
Meanwhile, the Ondo State government has declared Seven-day of mourning in honour of the late governor. The mourning shall commence today and condolence registers has been opened at the Governors Office, Alagbaka, Akure, the state’s liason offices in Lagos and Abuja and the headquarters of the 18 local government areas in the state.
