Security Forces in Egypt Clashes With Militants in Kerdasa

From Cairo, efforts are ongoing by the Egyptian security forces to fish out Muslim Brotherhood leaders, CEOAFRICA.com gathered.

However, this resulted to a clash with militants after entering a town near Cairo. Soldiers went into Kerdasa at about 05:30 local time (03:30 GMT) to target "criminal and terrorist hotbeds".

According to a state media, militants shot dead Gen Nabil Farag, a senior policeman. Also, eleven police officers were killed at a police station in Kerdasa last month, few weeks after Mohammed Morsi was overthrown.

From sources, it was gathered that security forces have started combing every nook and cranny of Kerdasa for members of Muslim Brotherhood movement.
