President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, who was sworn in as Mali’s President on September 4, would be officially inaugurated at a public ceremony today.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the inauguration would take place at the 26 Mars Stadium in Bamako, and it would witness the presence of dignitaries including French President, Francois Hollande.

Hollande is held in high regard by Mali after France sent 4,100 troops in January to help its poverty-stricken former colony fight an Islamist insurgency.

Also expected to grace the occasion are Presidents, Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, Alassane Quattara of Cote d’ Ivoire, Idriss Deby of Chad, and other twenty-six African heads of State.

At the inauguration ceremony, President Keita will address the nation, followed by speeches from Hollande, Ouattara and Deby.

Keita has pledged to create "a strong and impartial state that will bring together all Malians’’.

He has appointed 34 ministers and created a National Reconciliation Ministry, which will focus on the development of Mali’s northern regions and dealing with separatist Tuareg groups.

After the speeches, soldiers of the Malian, French and Chadian armies as well as the EU training mission and UN peacekeepers will parade in the 50,000-seat stadium.

The political delegations will then drive to the Koulouba Presidential Palace for a celebratory lunch and bilateral meetings.
