A socio-cultural group under the aegis of Bachama Unity Club, Kaduna branch, yesterday donated assorted relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at Malkohi camp in Yola.
The items donated include 50 bags of rice, 100 cartons of Indomie noodles and 30 cartons of bar soap.
Presenting the items, chairman of the club, Chief Peter Clement (Raw Bachama), said the gesture was meant to alleviate the lingering suffering of the IDPs since their displacement from their communities.
He noted that the group was similarly strategising to see how it can sustain the effort in order to continue to affect the lives of the IDPs in the future, just as he promised that they will never relent in giving succour to them until all of the IDPs return to their various communities.
Appreciating the gesture, Malkohi camp manager, Zakari Abubakar, said the items will go a long way in bringing relief to the IDPs, adding that the materials will be judiciously distributed to the IDPs.
In his remark, chairman of the Malkohi IDPs Forum, Nicholas Samuel, thanked the organisers of the club for coming to their aid at such a critical time in their lives, and prayed Allah to reward them abundantly.
