In his quest to return to the Agodi Government House in 2015 after his failure to get the second term ticket which he lost to his deputy, Adebayo Alao-Akala in 2007 and after losing at the 2011 governorship election which he contested under the platform of Accord Party, Senator Rashidi Ladoja has been going round the state telling the people on the need to return to government house in 2015.

The former governor had been to the Oyo Federal constituency, Ogbomoso, and the Oke Ogun area of the state, stressing the need for the people to return to him to power, considering his experience in governance.

Recently, the former governor and leader of the Accord Party led other party members including his aides like the former Speaker, former SSG,  former commissioners, ex-lawmakers and former local government functionaries to  Oyo

and Ogbomoso where no fewer than 2,000 people who were members of the Peoples

Democratic Party (PDP) and defunct Action Congress of Nigeria decamped to the Accord Party.

The decampees were from Oyo Federal Constituency and Ogbomoso which consist of nine local government areas of the state. There is no doubt that the mobilisation drive of the Accord Party had continued to receive a boost as thousands of decampees from both People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the defunct ACN in Oyo and Ogbomosho consisting of nine local government areas joined the party.

Addressing mammoth crowd in Labamba Hotel, Oyo, while paying tribute to

the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111, he said that he would have paid him courtesy visit in the place but for the fear that he might be summoned by the government in power for practicing politics which was not expected of a

traditional ruler.

As a father of all, Ladoja, said that Oba Lamidi Adeyemi had been playing the role of a father and was not a politician, saying that the present of a prince in the party was an indication that the traditional ruler was in touch with the party.

He expressed the delight that the decision of Prince Rabiu Gbadagesin to decamp to Accord Party was an indication that the people of Oyo were ready to support not only the party but their people in winning elections. Ladoja who noted that the last election was rigged in Oyo, said that the people of Ibadan voted for Accord and this was responsible for the number of lawmakers it had in the state and national levels.

According to him, the party would have win the election if not that the  people of Oyo decided to abandon their people for another people in another party. While noting that there were crises in other political parties he maintained that Accord remains the only alternative party to form government in the state, saying that with the focused leadership, transparency and respect for the rule of law, the party will no doubt form government in Oyo State come 2015.He explained that the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria has failed to manage success and as a result it had been implementing programmes that were not favourable to the people of the state.

The former governor who alleged that the present administration in the state had been tempering with the local government funds said “the constitution is very clear about the autonomy of the local government and the federal, state and local government has roles to play and there are checks and balances.

As the former governor of the state, he said that he ensure that each tier of government operated independently, adding that there had been problem because most of those expected to implement the laws were not competent.

He used the opportunity to call on the state government to organize local

Government election saying that it will show how the people of the state had

rejected the ACN’s programmes.  The leadership of the party would be surprised that the election result would not be favourable to the party.

He recalled that Governor Ajimobi came to the party and he was given the advice on the best way the state could be governed but when the party realized that he had derailed it decided to recall its representatives in the government.

The governor did not mince words to condemned most of the projects so far implemented by the present administration, saying that the costs were outrageous when compared to others in the neighbouring states handled by the

same contractor.

Ladoja, while noting that he had done it before, assured the new entrants to imbibe party discipline which had been the  hallmark of Accord as a political party that cherished the welfare of the people.

According to him, the essence of political movement is to strike a balance

between government and the govern in order to ensure even distribution of

developments to all the nooks and crannies without tilting to any side or

individuals.

Senator Ladoja told the crowd that the current move of the party in the state

to liberate our people from the claws of oppression from the hands of

those who claims to be saviour of the people in trying to woo electorates.

He added the mobilization streak should be from home to homes.

Earlier, former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Adeolu Adeleke had while responding to what Ladoja left at the Government House that he is now going back to take, said that Ladoja was not the only former governor that was returning to the Government House.

He argued that his boss was returning to the Government House come 2015 because the present administration had not got it right.

According to him, most of the policies were badly implemented while the projects do not have human face.

“As a result of the hardship faced by the people of the state, especially the

Traders most of them have died while several others were nursing one disease or the other,” he added.

Also speaking, Honourable Wasiu Ali, called on the people of the Oyo Federal

Constituency not to waste another opportunity of having their people in

elective positions, stressing that they should learn from the past mistakes.

He said that time has come for the people of the constituency to ensure that they have good representation at the state House and National Assemblies.

Most of the decampees assured the Accord leader that at least 5,000 people from each of the local government would be recruited into the party to ensure its victory at the poll.

Among those defected into the party were former speaker Oyo state House of Assembly,  Dr. Akin Onigbinde (PDP) Hon. Banjo Folaranmi (ACN) Hon. Peter

Oyetunji (ACN) Chief Bayo Olakanmi and Dr. Mabaje's group (ACN). Others

include Mojirade Ademola Adeleke Gboyeola Jokotoye and Ben Sangodele (PDP),

Prince Rabiu Gbadegesin and Honourable Phillips Ojo among others.
