Thirty-year-old father, Afisu Ibrahim has been arrested for allegedly killed his eight-year-old son.

CEOAFRICA news learnt on Thursday that the suspect Mr.Afisu Ibrahim from Irayin Village, Iresaadu, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, hit his son, Majeed Olayiwola with cudgel on the head.

As a result, the victim collapsed and was rushed to the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH).He was said to have died while on admission at the hospital.

When CEOAFRICA news contacted the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Olabisi Ilobanafor who confirmed the incident, she said the case was reported at Iresaadu Police Division by one Amos Olatunji.

According to her, the 30-year-old father was arrested for murder.

She disclosed that detectives had visited the scene of the incident while the corpse was deposited at the General Hospital, Ogbomoso morgue for autopsy.

She said the coroner forms had been served on the hospital for necessary action.

The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Indabawa directed that the matter be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
