John Obi Mikel
CEOAFRICA sports desk gathered that Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea manager, has joined thousands of people who commended Super Eagles midfield general, John Obi Mikel for a wonderful display on Saturday, where he got his first premiership goal in 261 games for Chelsea.
The goal gave Chelsea a 2-0 lead over London rival, Fulham, as the Europa League holders bounced back to winning ways after two consecutive defeats.
Mourinho said the Nigerian international gave his side the needed balance.
“Good for him, good for us. I think it is good for his confidence. And I think people enjoyed seeing John (Obi Mikel) score a goal.’
“The goal was a shot in a set-piece, in a corner, a rebound, the finishing was good and he was in the position, but the important thing for me is he played a good game, he gave balance and stability.
“He kept very good control of the game, so I am happy with the way John is playing,” Mourinho concluded.
