Officers of the Department of State Security (DSS), attached to the Niger State Government House on Tuesday manhandled the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Abubarkar Sani Bello, Dr. Ibraheem Dooba.

The CPS was said to have gone to the office of the Deputy Governor with some visitors but was prevented from gaining entrance into the office by some DSS officers.

Despite explanations by Dooba that the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Ketso sent for him through his protocol officer, the security officers remained adamant and denied him access.

Angered by the development, the CPS was said to have slapped a DSS officer and thereafter headed back to his office.

The DSS men later mobilised and headed to the CPS’s office and lied to him that the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Government House, Ibrahim Gambari wanted to see him.

Dooba, without suspicion obliged and headed for the CSO office with the DSS officers without knowing that they had planned to ‘deal’ with him.

Mid-way into the CSO office, five of the DSS officers pounced on him, tore his clothes and inflicted injuries on his body before  the Governor’s ADC, Isah Murtala Raji rescued him.
