
As Muslims celebrate Eid-Il-Fitr, the Nigeria's Inspecteor General of Police, Solomon Arase has tasked the 36 state commissioners of police including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to improve and water-tight the security during and after the celebration.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu told ceoafrica today the the aim, was to ensure hitch-free Sallah celebrations.
He said special attention should be paid to all places of worships, critical public places and other vulnerable points prone to criminal attacks.
He expressed optimism that the operational strategies adopted by the Force and renewed collaboration with the public would yield positive results.
The IGP, while felicitating with Muslims as they round off the Ramadan Fast, enjoined them and other citizens to maintain utmost vigilance and courageously continue to support the police and provide useful information towards preventing and unearthing crimes and their perpetrators.
