
Workers in the State of Osun have called off the seven weeks old strike over non-payment of salaries and allowances by the state goverment.
When CEOAFRICA correspondent visited the state secretariat, Abere and the House of Assembly on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, few workers were found at their offices cleaning and doing other sanitation exercises.
However, findings by CEOAfrica revealed that majority of the workers did not received the payment alert from their respective banks.
Meanwhile, Governor Rauf Aregbesola has appealed to workers to remain calm on the payment of their salary arrears.
Reacting to complaint by the state NLC Chairmen, Jacob Adekomi that the government failed to respect the agreement reached with labour leaders on the payment modality, the governor urged workers to remain calm as he pleaded for their understanding.
While speaking through his press officer, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, the governor said his attention had been drawn to a growing discontent among workers in the state on the partial payment of salary to workers from Grade Level 08 and above.
