National Mathematical Centre Host National Olympaids for Secondary Schools and Investiture of First Distinguished Fellow

 National Mathematical Centre,Abuja held National Olympaids Awards for Secondary Schools and Investiture of First Distinguished Fellow of National Mathematical Centre, Abuja yesterday 20th July 2015, at International Conference Centre,FCT. 

Over 3000 secondary school students participated in the Olympaids, which includes mathematics,chemistry,informatics,junior and senior sciences.

Also the students came from all the 36 states of the federation and including FCT.  One of the highlights of the event was the Rubbik Cube desmonstration/mental arithmetic. The three first best were given brand new laptops. 

About 2000 medals were giving to students for outstanding performance in science ranging from gold, silver and bronze and it was the first of it kind in Nigeria and since the inception of NCM.

Professor Sam Allen, the immediate past director of NCM was given award as First Distinguished Fellow. Special guest of honour were the Honourable Minister of Education, guest of honour Dr.Mac John Nwaobiala and Chief host Prof. A.R.T Solarin.
