The anointed candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, yesterday had a brief meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting is believed to be connected with Gbajabiamila’s quest to be named the House Leader after losing out in the race for Speaker of the House to Hon. Yakubu Dogara. It is reported that the preferred candidate of the APC is fast losing the support of his loyalists in the House, who are now aligning with the Dogara camp
Gbajabiamila’s rendezvous with President Buhari on Friday is his second meeting of the week with him. Gbajabiamila was the only one who however visited Buhari on Friday unlike the first one where the President met with the lawmaker and about 29 of his colleagues that are loyal to him.
After his brief meeting with the President, the lawmaker refused to field questions from newsmen on account of being in a hurry “to see the Chairman” of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
