President Salvir Kiir of South Sudan was part of dignitaries that witnessed the Swearing in Ceremony of Presidential Special Advisor on Legal Affairs,  Justice Telar Ring Deng, who was reappointed recently by a Republican Decree. The swearing in Ceremony was conducted by the deputy Chief of Justice Madol Arol Kachual, and was attended by the minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Martin Elia Luomor and the minister of National Security Gen. Issac Obuto Mamur.

Speaking after the ceremony, Justice Telar Ring expressed sincere gratitude to the president for his unabated confidence in him and for reappointing him as a Presidential legal Advisor on Legal Affairs.

Referring to the vetting process that disapproved his appointment as Justice Minister, Justice Ring said although some people tried to personalize and politicize the important aspects of the Country’s Constitutional Democracy, he has no qualms or bitterness against anyone, and promised to work diligently with all colleagues to advance the SPLM Government programme forward.

Furthermore, Justice Ring said as he assumes duties today, he is going to rededicate himself to key priorities of good governance agenda among which is fighting corruption in South Sudan.

He said “I am going to re-dedicate myself to three key priorities of good governance agenda. Firstly, fighting corruption. We cannot fight corruption in South Sudan if the Anti-Corruption Commission is not provided with the real teeth, not its current milk teeth, to bite with properly”.
