A middle aged man, Nureni Ajijola has petitioned the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina over alleged unlawfully arrest, harassment and intimidation by some policemen him in Ibadan.

Ajijola , in the petition written  on his behalf  by his counsel Barrister A.O. Bada titled "Unlawful Arrest/ Harassment of Nureni Ajijola "  had called on the police commissioner  to save his life from incessant arrests by the police.

 "Some policemen armed with guns came to his house to arrest him at 9.30pm in a vehicle without any number but there was inscription "SARS IBADAN" on the door of the vehicle. It has no plate number .He was carried round Oja' gbo near Sekoni house.”

 "My client was asked by the policemen whether he knows Sikiru Lapanpa. He told them he knows him but he has nothing with him .They told him that this Sakiru Lapanpa was in their office and that he is a Juju maker but he told them that he had nothing in common with him.

 "They later called Sobe and asked him whether there was anything between them but he told them that there was nothing but one Kokoro was also called and asked of his relationship with Sakiru but he told them that he had nothing in common with Sakiru .They also called Sola Irekosodo .He too told them that he had nothing in common with him.

 "My client said he gave them two thousand naira (N2, 000.00) but that they demanded for twenty thousand naira (N20, 000.00) which he said Irekosodo will give them the following day.

 "The following day when there was nothing forthcoming, they telephoned him but he said there was nothing by then. He said they came back to his place of residence at 8.00pm the following day but they could not see him.

 "He said he did not want them to kill him, he decided not to sleep in the house again.  I have instruction from my client to implore you to save his life".

But in a swift reaction, the state Police Public Relations Officer , DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu said the petitioner came to his office with the report and he had directed him to report the case to the senior officer in SARS and he promised to feed him back which he had not done till now .
