The management and staff, as well as the Alumni Association of The Polytechnic, Ibadan have felicitated with the newly elected President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Waheed Odusile. In separate felicitation messages made available to our Correspondent in Ibadan yesterday, they described the election of the new NUJ President as a call to duty of which Odusile could not afford to fail. The management of The Polytechnic in its own message ‎signed by the institution's Public Relations Officer (PRO), Soladoye Adewole, said it was glad to identify with the new President being an alumnus of the institution. It recalled that the new NUJ President graduated from the Department of Mass Communication of the institution in 1987 and that during his studentship, he maintained a clean record, both academically and morally. While assuring that NUJ has fallen into good hands under the leadership of Odusile, the institution said "the new NUJ President is known to be of good character, hardworking and we'll equipped to lead the union to greater height". In the same vein, the institution's Alumni Association in its message signed by Adelani Akintunde and Soladoye Adewole, President and National Secretary respectively acknowledged the huge responsibility the position of NUJ President carried, but expressed conviction that Odusile would shoulder the responsibility effectively and efficiently to the pride of his Alma mater and the entire people of Nigeria. The Alumni Association prayed to the Almighty God to grant Odusile long life, good health, wisdom, vision and courage to enable him perform his duties well so as to justify the implicit confidence reposed in him by journalists in Nigeria. Odusile was at the weekend elected the NUJ President at the Triennial Delegates Conference held in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
