NAFDAC FAULTS DRUGS, OTHER FAKE PRODUCTS WORTH N210.76 MILLION

The National Agency for Foods, Drugs, Administration and Control has destroyed fake and counterfeit drugs and other regulated products worth N210.76m.

CEOAFRICA has gathered from the statement of the Director General of NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii during the exercise in Odunkpani, near Calabar, Cross River State, that the exercise was in line with the agency strategy at eliminating the re-introduction of fake and other spurious regulated products into circulation in the country.

Represented by the NAFDAC Director of Investigation and Enforcement, Mr. Macdonald Garba, Orhii stressed that the management had zero tolerance to counterfeit drugs.

He however noted that the effort of the agency are yielding tremendous result, stating that there is a significant drop in the percentage of fake and counterfeit medicines in circulation.
