NSC PLEGES TO SPONSOR NSCDC ATHLETES TOWARDS 2014 COMMONWEALTH GAMES

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has declared it will sponsor two athletes from the National Security and Civil Defense Corps to the next Commonwealth Games scheduled to hold in Glasgow-Scotland, 2014.
This disclosure was made by the Director-General of the NSC, Gbanga Elegbeyele in a visit to the Commandant General of the National security Civil Defense Corps, Dr. Ade Abolurin in the NSCDC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
CEOAFRICA news desk gathered according to Elegbeleye that the management of the National Sports Commission had decided to make this offer in recognition of the role the organization is playing to the development of sports in Nigeria.
He pointed out that NSCDC is the best thing that has happened to sports in Nigeria, noting that the organization is one of the most employers of sportsmen in Nigeria.
He however called on corporate organizations to support sports development, stressing that funding is one of the major problem of sports and that Government alone cannot fund sports.
