From Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed-led administration in the state has approved N1.5 billion for the construction of Ilesha/Baruba/Gwanara/Okuta road.

This was disclosed at the end of the monthly State Executive Council Meeting held yesterday and presided over by the governor.

Speaking about the outcome of the meeting, the state Commissioner for Finance Demola Banu said the 32 Kilometres road project would commence immediately and would be completed within twelve montns.

He noted that the dwindling revenue occasioned by shortfall from the federation account would not affect payment of workers’ salary and other monthly government commitments. Banu also disclosed that the council reviewed ongoing projects in all the 16 local government and was satisfied that all are going smoothly and well-funded.
