EXPERTS CALLS FOR SKILLFUL APPLICATION OF PESTICIDES

Rwandian Experts warn that maximum precaution must be taken by farmers when using pesticides so as not to endanger their lives.

Jean Jacques Mbonigaba, the Director-General of Rwanda Agriculture Board (RAB) also advised that farmers and other people concerned should endeavor to have basic knowledge on the use of pesticides.

This disclosure was made during the opening of three days agricultural workshop in Msanze District which attracted some 50 experts on pesticides from East Africa, Ethiopia as well as the Netherlands.

Jean Jac urge who explained at the workshop that pesticides are important for crops without which it is hard to get good harvest at the same time added that it is dangerous for human life once not well used because of its poisonous nature.

He also warned that people should desist from mixing equipment used in pesticide application with domestic tools because it is detrimental to health.

The experts however called for a more skillful management and application of pesticides to maximize production and well save life.
