The EFF is taking President Jacob Zuma to court in its bid to have him repay some of the money spent on his private Nkandla home, the party said on Thursday.
"The case number [CCT143/15] of the #EFF application to the Constitutional Court to force Zuma to #PayBackTheMoney #Asijiki," read a tweet from the EFF official account.
Neither party leader Julius Malema nor his spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi could be reached for comment.
Broadcaster eNCA earlier quoted Malema as saying: "We are waiting for a date from the Constitutional Court. We have a case number and we want the court to compel the president to implement the remedial actions of the public protector, including him paying something... for the non-security features at Nkandla."
Malema again failed to get an answer from Zuma to his question "when are you going to pay back the money?" during question time in the National Assembly on Thursday.
Zuma said there were processes that needed to be finalised. The Nkandla ad hoc committee was still discussing the matter, he said.
"It's very clear we will never get an answer from the president, let's meet in court," Malema told Zuma.
