Sunshine Stars on Thursday defeated Sharks of Port-Harcourt with 2-0 at the Akure Township Stadium which make the Ondo State Club back on top of the Nigeria league table.

Sunshine now have 39 points from 21 games, leading Enyimba of Aba with one point. Prince Aggreh opened the scoring chance for the hosts in the 10th minute.

 In the 20th minute, Adeniji had a powerful cross but his effort sailed over the bar with only the goalkeeper to beat. In the 25th minute, Dele Olorundare missed another glorious opportunity to double the home team’s lead.

After series of misses Tunde Adeniji doubled Sunshine’s lead in the 68th minute to take his goals’ haul to 12. Sunshine created several chances in this match which was rescheduled because they were involved in a car accident.
