The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ekiti State Command has declared on Friday that it would soon destroy a 600-acre Indian hemp farm in the state.
Mr. Dele Akingbade, the Ekiti State Commandant of the agency had disclosed this during an interview with the media in Ado-Ekiti.
He further said the agency discovered the weed farm on July 24 at Ode-Ekiti, in Gbonyin Local Government Area of the state, following a tip-off by concerned members of the public, adding that the agency is already working out the financial value of the farm.
Akingbade who described the farm as the largest hemp farm owned by individual in Ekiti, said the four men caught on the farm confessed that they were hired on N1,000 daily to provide security at the farm.
