
ZCTU Seeks Improved Condition Of Service

The Zambia Congress of Trade Unions has moved ahead of time to discuss possible demands for improved conditions of service as the budget is set to be presented next month.
Government has imposed a two year wage and recruitment freeze that is due to lapse this budget year with labour unions keeping their fingers crossed.
The Zambia Congress of Trade Unions is currently gathered in Siavonga to hammer out their proposals to government.
ZCTU President Chishimba Nkole said the union will seek to put through concrete demands to government before the budget is presented.
Labour unions made a halfhearted attempt to fight the wage freeze after it was announced by Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda.
