Several reports have flooded the internet and social media, stating that the ‘Abobaku’; someone, who according to customs, has been chosen to be buried with the King, fled as the final burial rites of Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade kicked off on Wednesday.

It will be recalled that traditional rulers had on Tuesday, announced the 'oro' festival, which was scheduled for Wednesday between 9am and 4pm for the final rite of the monarch’s death and    perhaps, the students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) on Wednesday, had staged their own version of 'oro", since the school authorities restricted their movement over the Ooni's final rites curfew announcement.
