THE Speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly, Ali Ahmad has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to implement relevant laws on corruption towards making graft cases actionable in the nation’s courts.

Ahmad in an interaction with reporters in Ilorin said existing lacuna in the nation’s criminal codes should be expunged so that Buhari’s quests to stem cases of corruption in the country could be effective.

According to Ahmad, junior civil servants should be covered with immunity against sack if they served as whistle blowers in cases of corruption involving their superior officials. Besides, he said existing sections of the Criminal Codes that allow undue adjournments and pendency of cases should be removed.

He said he would ensure that the state’s legislature under his leadership enact relevant anti graft laws to assist the Federal Government in its fight against corrupt practices.

Besides, he said though the entire 24 members of the house are from the same party, All Progressives Congress, (APC), the House would ensure the Principles of Power Separation in all the conducts of its affairs with the other arms of government.
