
The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) in partnership with world football governing body, FIFA, has organized a five day course for referees to equip the match officials with modern trends of the game.
The course held from Monday, 3 August 2015 to Friday, 7 August 2015 in Kololi, Gambia was targeted at Referees and Assistant Referees in the Elite 'A' category of the CAF Refereeing Development Grading System.
The objective of the five-day course was to further enhance their understanding in refereeing and to create a platform of uniformity of interpretation and application of the laws of the game.
The participants were taken through the usual Fitness tests which was conducted at the National Stadium in Bakau whilst some of the topics included Positioning and Movement; Reading the game; Referees techniques and Integrity.
Instructors for the course were Carlos Henriques (South Africa), Felix Tangawarima (Zimbabwe) and Mark Ephraim Mzengo (Malawi)
Thirty (30) match officials benefited from the training course, including 27 Men and three women.
