Gospel musician Mathias Mhere said he was overwhelmed by the response he got during his debut tour of the United States. Speaking from the US yesterday, Mhere said that it was encouraging to have such a great tour overseas. "The shows were really good and the response was encouraging.
"Unoona kubata kwa Mwari," he said.
He said his experience in working with other artistes like Mkululi Bhebhe and Takesure Zamar on the international tour was an eye-opener.
"They are just amazing musicians. This is another milestone in my career, working with such musicians. People here love it a lot," he said.
Mhere said he was looking forward to have collaborations with other musicians based in the US.
"I have so far met a number of musicians here who are willing to have collaborations with us. That is another opportunity to share and exchange notes as musicians," he said.
He said his fans have something to smile about as he will be launching a DVD when he comes back.
"We are going to have the launch of 'Glory to Glory' videos when I return home and we will do so with zeal because the team got inspiration from this tour," he said.
He is expected to be back in the country next week.
Meanwhile, the musician is scheduled to perform in the UK in October.
Organisers of the concert, Rainbow Entertainment, said he will be sharing the stage with Mkululi Bhebhe, Debora Fraser, Lundi and some UK-based musicians.
Enock Kamhiriri, who is one of the organisers said the show is likely to be a thriller as it has top African gospel musicians.
He said they have put in place all the necessary documents for the show.
"All is now in place for the shows and we are happy that this show has top African entertainers," he said.
He said they have also lined up several musicians who are based in the UK to be supporting acts.
