Following yesterday’s attack in Yobe State by suspected Boko Haram sect , Canadian government has joined many people to condemn the incident where over 40 students of the College of Agriculture in the state were killed in their hostel.
CEOAFRICA.com gathered from sources that the above statement was made by the Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister, John Baird in a release few hours ago.
“We condemned the perpetrators of this abhorrent act targeted innocent students while they were sleeping.
“On behalf of all Canadians, I extend my deepest sympathies to those injured in the attack and to the families and friends of those who lost their lives.”
He acknowledged the hope that the perpetuators shall be brought to book while expressing Canadian government’s willingness to help Nigeria fight terrorism.
In the same vein, U.S government also commiserates with the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.
A tweeter message from the U.S Embassy in Abuja said: “our hearts are with the families of those who lost their lives in Gujba, Yobe.
“We stand united with all Nigerian in this time of tragedy,’’ the Embassy was quoted saying this by our source.
