As Nigeria marks the 53^rd Anniversary of Independence tomorrow, government and the people of Russia has congratulated the country, CEOAFRICA.com gathered.

According to a statement issued by the Russian Embassy in Abuja, President Vladimir Putin felicitate with his Nigerian counterpart, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of the occasion.

“Please accept my sincere congratulation on the occasion of your country’s Independence Day. I am confident that the relations between Russia and Nigeria, based on the principle of friendship and mutual respect, will keep on developing actively in all directions.

“I wish you good health, happiness and success, and I wish the people of Nigeria peace and prosperity,” Putin said.
