Two Commercial Motorcyclists Arraigned Over Alleged Murder in Akure

From Akure, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that two commercial motorcycle riders have been remanded in prison over alleged murder.

Folorunso Aliu, 37, and Akinwale Ogunro, 30, were alleged to have perpetuated the killing of Deji Afolabi, 27.

The Magistrate, Mrs Florence Adesida, said the accused should be kept behind bars pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Speaking on the charges leveled against the accused, the prosecutor, Cpl. Adeoye Adesegun, said that they allegedly committed the offences with others still at large on 21 August, 2013.

According to him, the offence took place at Iron Base Barricade (Oju Irin) junction, Iwaro Oka in Akoko North West Local Government Area. During a fight with the deceased, they shot him with a gun. The act contravened the criminal code of Ondo State, 2006.

“The deceased was confirmed dead as a result of the injuries he sustained in his body during the fight.’’

The Case has been adjourned till 12 October for mention.
