Indian and Africa would converge on Tuesday in Indian to deliberate on major issues involving food security, steps to enhancing trade and increasing cooperation in sectors such as infrastructure.

Among stakeholders to participate in the day-long meeting are: Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Nkosozana Diamini-Zuma, South African Minister of Trade and Industry, Rob Davies; Ministers of Trade and Industry from Kenya, Malawi, and Chad.

Scheduled to participate also in the meeting are Indian and African businessmen from sectors like telecommunications, healthcare and aviation who would be discussing various issues related with increasing investment between the regions.

Moreover, both sides are expected to discuss ways to increase cooperation in areas such as education, science & technology, agriculture, health and infrastructure.

CEOAFRICA gathered however that Indian would be ask to fast track the process on the proposed free trade pact with the 19-nation Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).
