
The Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki Moon would begin a two day visit to Nigeria starting from Sunday. It was gathered that several meetings awaits Mr Ban Ki Moon, top of which is a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari. The UN Secretary General would also meet with state governors, and other government officials. His visit is aimed at deepening Nigeria’s democracy with the central theme ‘Democracy, sustainable development, and countering violent extremism’. Nigeria’s business community would have an opportunity to meet with Mr Ban Ki Moon to discuss ways to sustain development goals and address climate change. His visit is coming in the month that Nigeria is presiding over the UN Security Council and most African countries have said they would leverage on the opportunity to present security challenges facing some African countries.
