The Catholic University in Kenya has emerged the overall winner in the Maktaba Award hosted in a splendid ceremony last Thursday evening at the National Museums of Kenya, Nairobi.
CEOAFRICA gathered that the Maktaba Award which aims to recognize excellence in the provision of library and information services in Kenya is now in their fourth year and was organized in partnership with Kenya Library Association, the Goethe Institute Kenya, The Jomo Kenyatta Foundation and the Radio Africa Group.
The Catholic University received a cheque of Sh250, 000 as the prize for its expansion and elaborate well equipped library that continues to enhance students success over the years while other winners werethe Management University of East Africa, Mount Kenya University, Buru’s Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) and Makini School.
Vision 2030 Director General, Mugo Kibati who spoke at the event, urged the youth to continue building a reading culture to enhance the information capacity of young children.
