Nigeria’s IAAF medal hope, Blessing Okagbare has withdrawn from the 200m event of the 2015 IAAF World Championship.

Okagbare was scheduled to run in the third heat of the 200m event after finishing last in the 100m, but she did not show up.

No explanation has been given for her absence and she is also not on the start list for the long jump event tomorrow.

Her absence from both events destroys any slim hope Nigeria had in claiming any medal in the World Championship.

Okagbare won bronze in the 200m in the 2013 championships in Moscow, where she also secured silver in the long jump.
