Applications for the 'Digital Changemakers' competition will close on 29 August 2015.
Organisers; Tigo Rwanda in partnership with Reach for Change announced a one-week extension for the competition.
Originally closing on August 21, Rwandans can continue to submit their applications until 29 August 2015.
The Tigo Digital Changemakers competition is aimed at encouraging social entrepreneurs to use technology to solve some of Rwanda's most pressing social needs. The prize money of Frw 14 million will be shared by two winners who will also be given expert guidance to implement their projects.
According to Tigo, the public response has been encouraging, and extending the deadline has become necessary as several people are still going through the various stages of the application at www.tigo.co.rw/digitalchangemakers.
It is the second year that Tigo Rwanda organizes the Digital Changemakers competition. Last year's edition was won by Dominique Alonga of Imagine We Rwanda, an organization that encourages a reading culture among children, and Yves Iradukunda of Academic Bridge, a program that empowers schools to efficiently collect and manage students' information.
Applicants who need support with the application process are invited to visit The Changemakers Hub located the Tigo Headquarters in Muhima, between 8 AM and 5 PM during week days, to get support with completing and submitting their applications.
