Tony Nwoye
One of the governorship candidates under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party in Anambra State, Tony Nwoye, has withdrew a suit which he filed to challenge INEC on the removal of his name as the flag bearer of the party in the November 16 governorship election.
CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the Federal High Court in Abuja granted Tony Nwoye’s request in a ruling by Justice Elvis Chukwu.
“In view of the application filed by Mr Alex Akoja on behalf of the plaintiff, I hereby grant an order for the withdrawal of the suit,” he said.
Tony Nwoye’s attorney, Mr. Akoja said that the withdrawal became imperative to pave the way for the pursuit of an appeal on the decision of the Port Harcourt jurisdiction of the court.
It would be recalled that Federal High Court in Port Harcourt declared that Nicholas Ukachukwu’s candidature should be upheld and Tony Nwoye should not be paraded as the PDP governorship candidate again.
