
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) on Wednesday protested to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) office over hospitality.
Armed with placards, the #BringBackOurGirls family, along with the IDPs engaged the NHRC. Top on the agenda was to call for a better treatment of the IDPs and ask for missing persons’ database for in Nigeria.
“Nigeria must do all that it can to ease the pain of the IDPs. We must let citizens know that their lives matter.
“The NHRC should push for a national register that every Nigerian will have access to when there are cases to report.
“Can we have a register of a Uniform Data Base all over the country that would be initiated by NHRC for Missing Persons?
“When you go to Police Stations to report cases of Missing Persons they are hardly ever taken serious,” they bemoaned.
