Two remanded in prison for raping a 16-yr old

A Magistrate Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, yesterday remanded Adeola Samuel and Olorunyomi Emmanuel for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.

It was gathered that on August 19, that the victim, alongside her father Mr Elijah Kayode, reported to the Anti- Human Trafficking Women and Children Protection Unit that on August 18, Adeola Samuel, who is a friend to the victim invited her for a night vigil at Woli Abela’s church, Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin.

The complainants further said that the girl accepted to attend the programme but Adeola Samuel took her to the house of his friend (Olorunyomi Emmanuel) at Ita-Alamu area of Ilorin, where he allegedly had sexual intercourse with her.

He added that after that, Adeola’s friend also attempted to do the same but the victim refused.

“Both the accused persons striped her naked and soaked her clothes inside water. However, the victim ran out of the house, naked”, the complainants said.

According to the prosecution, “Police investigation revealed that the accused persons confessed to have committed the crime”.

Magistrate Monisola Gbadeyan in her ruling ordered their remand at Mandala Prison Yard and adjourned the case to September 15.
