THE Rector of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Alh. Mas’ud Elelu has disclosed the plan of the institution to organise an open day to showcase the products manufactured by the institution.
Elelu disclosed this to journalists in Ilorin, on Tuesday, during a facility tour of the institution, where some of the ongoing and finished projects were shown.
He said this would give the institution an opportunity to attract customers, especially organisations and corporate bodies to patronise its products.
“We will soon finalise arrangement with Africa Development Bank (AfDB) to access fund for other projects apart from the ones we are enjoying presently,” the rector said.
On the same occasion, the Director of Works of the polytechnic, Dr. Abdulwahab Adeyi, listed other projects under Kwara Polytechnic Ventures Nigeria Limited as three-line block making business, commercial car wash centre, water bottling venture, among others.
He said the projects were part of internally generated revenue activities, to claw in extra fund for the institution, adding that the block making machines were moulded by the institution.
He listed other completed projects done through the Education Tax Fund (ETF) funding as academic conference centre, two 250-seat capacity lecture halls, tourism village, mass communication studio and an ultra-modern sports stadium complex, which is currently under construction on school’s campus.
