The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State took a swipe at the cheap charade embarked upon by Governor Nyesom Wike in celebrating 100 days since he assumed office.
The opposition party described the Governor’s celebration as a mere publicity stunt meant to divert attention and to arrogate needless commendation to himself while the ship of the State, as regards to the constitution of a cabinet, has no navigation.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone, the APC said, “As someone who is focused and with a clear plan for governance, President Muhammadu Buhari shortly after being sworn in as President announced that he would appoint Ministers in September. Despite the curiosity expressed by some Nigerians and following recent appointments by Mr. President, it has become clear to many that President Buhari has clear strategic and tactical plans of what he is set out to do as the President of Nigeria” , adding that same cannot be said of the governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike.
The APC further highlighted the managerial deficiency of Governor Wike, evidenced by his complacency in hatching a blueprint for the development of the state before he assumed office. Also in the litany of flaws highlighted by the APC is the arrogance of Governor Wike which has denied him the humility of acknowledging projects which were began by his predecessor.
To further expatiate on what was described as a scheming agenda, the APC noted a number of unscrupulous channels through which Governor Wike has been exploiting Rivers State, knowing well that his days as the executive Governor are numbered and dependent on the petition case ongoing in the Governorship tribunal.
