The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has
condemned the killing of students in Yobe State, describing it as spilling of innocent blood.The NSCIA's Secretary General, Professor Ishaq Oloyede in a statement in Ibadan said the killing of students of College of Agriculture in Yobe state was ``unislamic and sadistic’’.
In the statement titled: ``Spilling Innocent Blood is Unislamic’’ NSCIA said ``no group or person, militant or terrorist, should take pleasure in brutal elimination of innocent lives’’.
The attacks on the College of Agriculture, Gujba, Yobe State, which resulted in the death of innocent students and injury of many others were sadistic, anachronistic and unIslamic’’, said NSCIA .
According to the Council, there is no religious justification for such murder in any religion, especially Islam the religion of peace and fastest growing faith in America and Europe.’’
The NSCIA in the strongest terms condemned the attacks and the attackers while wishing the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
It also sympathised with the Government and good people of Yobe State while it urges all Nigerians to be united and resolute in unmasking and fighting evil in whatever form it appears’’.
